"The weird became the normal!"

When I was in the bus heading to the gym, I was listening to TED Radio Hour (Podcast) about technology and robots under the title : "Do We Need Humans?" (Click on the title to listen to the full episode). It was quite interesting and surprising for me. I didn't know that people started already replacing humans and animals with robots. When I heard Sherry Trukle saying: "We expect a lot from technology and less from each other"; I realized why most of us are unsatisfied in all kinds of relationships and how much our lives are out of control.  You can watch her full TED Talk on YouTube by clicking here . Most of us use their devices (mobile, laptop, desktop, Ipad, Ipod...) to keep connected with the rest of the world. Is it really the rest of the world? Isn't it just a virtual part of the real world?

It seems like we are going to be alone together. We are loosing our nature of making relationships and understanding each other. I know some people who cannot even face other people to tell them the truth about their feelings or explain their actions. They rather prefer writing a message or an e-mail. Isn't so bad to loose the courage to be honest? Isn't so sad to no longer need looking at others' eyes and feel their words?

I can't deny the fact that we need technology and robots. I can't disown the necessity of our digital devices. Robots can help sick people. Robots can do dangerous work. Robots can save lives. But I hope robots will not be able to make us loose our VALUES.

That was my point of view. Let me know yours.
